Immfly is expanding its operations into Asia
26 February 2019
After collaborations with leading airlines including easyJet, IAG’s Iberia Express, Pegasus, Sun Express and many others, Immfly is expanding its operations into Asia.
Singapore, 26th February. Immfly, which has a reach of over 65 million customers with its current airline customers, already covers more than 50 destinations on the Asian continent, ranging from Western Asia all the way to SouthEast Asia & the Pacific. The Digital Connected Services and IFE company sees its move into Asia as a natural next step. Immfly has begun recruiting locally, already contracting personnel established in Hong Kong. Local presence will enable Immfly to better serve aviation customers in the region.
Connected Digital Services and Best-in-class IFE
Immfly’s digital services platform enables airlines to maximise revenues and efficiencies while also enabling their customers to enjoy a best in class IFE system. Immfly’s connected digital services focus on facilitating operational processes to reduce airline costs with digital services that simplify and accelerate tasks. At the same time, the company has successfully delivered platforms with tool kits which optimise ancillary revenue opportunities. Immfly’s IFE enables passengers to use their own smart personal devices instead of heavy, costly seat back systems, to enjoy premium curated content and services. Immfly’s technology is available for all aircraft, irrespective of the airline’s investment in on board internet connectivity. As the service does not rely on an external internet connection, airline customers can enjoy the fastest onboard streaming speeds at consistently excellent quality. Dynamic content management is paired with unique tools to benefit airlines with enhanced passenger experience, smarter operations, and potent new revenue streams.
Passengers can choose from a rich selection of best-selling movies, tv-shows, press & magazines, music, kids content, interactive maps, digital retail catalogues, and much more. Quality content is curated from major studios including 20th Century FOX, major news broadcasters and other premium content providers such as Financial Times, National Geographic among many other global media brands. Entertainment titles have included critically acclaimed TV shows such as superhero series Legion, comedy series Modern Family, How I met your Mother, and Family Guy as well as a range of many other favourites. Box office hits on offer have included movies which have either won or have been nominated for Oscars such as Shape of Water, The Revenant, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Greatest Showman, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri and blockbusters such as Deadpool 2, Ferdinand among the many titles passengers have enjoyed to date. Moreover Immfly provides its content in multiple languages covering all the languages its airline customers require. In addition to the major European languages, Immfly already streams content in languages such as Turkish and Chinese catering to its broad base of existing customers and destinations. “God Speed”, “Old Beast”, “What a Wonderful Family” and “Battle of Memories” are just an example of the Chinese titles already enjoyed by passengers. With Immfly, airline passengers can also access a range of services and valuable information during their flight including a 3D moving map, digitised retail catalogues, travel guides and offers for destinations activities.
Immfly has also closely collaborated with the Japanese global internet and e-commerce giant Rakuten. In a high profile trial with easyJet, one of Europe’s largest airlines, Immfly together with Rakuten as Official Entertainment Sponsor, launched an in-flight entertainment platform which replicated the way the airline’s customers consumed their media at home. The collaboration resulted in “a 22 percentage point improvement in customer satisfaction for customers using the platform versus easyJet’s network average” as confirmed by easyJet.
Digital Rights Management (DRM) via the Web browser
Together with partners Rakuten TV and FOX, Immfly was the first company in the world covering and ensuring 100% security and protection of major studios’ onboard content accessed through web browsers. The groundbreaking web-based DRM technology in Android systems (Widevine) and in IOS systems (Fairplay), allows the protection of content from being stolen or copied.
Immfly offers a unique value proposition and business model to airlines. On the one hand, reducing operational costs, and, on the other, boosting efficiencies and revenues while enhancing passenger experience. Immfly’s services are proven to substantially increase levels of intent to re-purchase with a clear Net Promoter Score impact.
Paloma Cabañas, Head of Customer Experience and Inflight Services in Iberia Express confirms “We strive to offer an exclusive travel experience to our passengers throughout the entire customer journey, and it is a proven fact that the Inflight entertainment platform provided by Immfly, is a key contributor to our success.”
